Today’s Reflection
Today’s Prayer
Gracious Father, as we near the end of our focus on voter engagement and responsibility, we turn to You for guidance on maintaining faith and civility throughout the electoral process. Your Word instructs us in Ephesians 4:31-32, “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Lord, we pray for a spirit of peace and mutual respect to prevail in our nation during this election season. Help us to remember that behind every political opinion is a person created in Your image, worthy of dignity and respect.
Father, grant us the strength to engage in political discussions with grace and humility. May we be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Help us to disagree without being disagreeable, to challenge ideas without attacking individuals.
We ask for Your peace to guard our hearts and minds, especially when election results are announced. Regardless of the outcome, help us to trust in Your sovereignty and to respond with maturity and civility.
Lord, we pray for unity in our nation. May our shared values and common hopes outweigh our political differences. Help us to work together for the good of all, even with those with whom we disagree.
Guide us, O Lord, in being examples of Your love and grace in our civic engagement. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
