Wise and Sovereign Lord, as we complete our focus on legislation, we seek Your guidance in understanding both the economic and societal impacts of proposed measures. Your Word teaches us in Luke 14:28, “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?” and in 1 Thessalonians 5:21, “but test them all; hold on to what is good.”

Father, grant us wisdom to understand the financial implications of proposed laws and measures. Help us be good stewards of public resources while ensuring that our communities’ needs are met.
