Today’s Prayer

Sovereign Lord, as our nation processes the results of yesterday’s election, we come before You seeking Your peace and wisdom. Your Word reminds us in 1 Peter 2:17, “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor,” and in Proverbs 11:2, “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.”

Father, we lift up our nation in this time of transition. Guide us in responding to election outcomes with ››› continue prayer here ››› both grace and dignity. Help those processing disappointment to find peace in Your sovereignty, and those experiencing victory to demonstrate humility and understanding.

Lord, we pray for healing where campaign rhetoric has strained relationships. Give us wisdom to bridge divides, especially on social media where words can either heal or harm. Help us remember that behind every vote and every viewpoint is a person created in Your image, worthy of dignity and respect.

Grant us the courage to be agents of peace in our communities. When we encounter gloating, help us respond with gentleness. When we meet fear, help us offer comfort. May our words and actions contribute to healing rather than division.

Father, guide our nation’s journey forward. Help us focus on the hopes and values we share as Americans rather than the differences that emerged during the campaign. Grant wisdom to those processing close races still being counted, and peace to communities awaiting final results.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
