Today’s Prayer

Loving Father, as we approach Election Day and pray for our nation’s future, we reflect on Your Word in 1 Peter 3:8, which teaches us, “Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.”

Lord, even in these final days before the election, remind us of the values that unite us as Americans: our love of liberty, our pursuit of justice, our belief in the dignity of every person, and our commitment to the common good. Help us see that ››› continue prayer here ››› these shared values transcend our political differences and bind us together as one nation under Your care.

Father, we confess that sometimes we forget our common heritage and shared dreams in the heat of political campaigns. Open our eyes to recognize the hopes and aspirations that unite us: the desire for safe communities, opportunities for our children, and the freedom to pursue our dreams. Let these shared hopes guide us as we prepare to cast our votes.

Grant us the wisdom to remember that our differences in approach often stem from the same deep love for our country. Help us to honor the patriotism in those who see things differently, recognizing that various paths can lead to the same goal of a stronger, more just nation.

Spirit of God, guide us in embracing our shared American story – one of courage, perseverance, and the constant striving toward a more perfect union. May we find strength in our diversity and unity in our common values as we approach this important moment in our democratic process.

May our shared faith in You and our commitment to these enduring values help us maintain perspective and unity, both as we vote and as we await the results of this election.
