Day 10
Scripture: James 1:19 (KJV)
“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.”
Today’s Prayer:
Loving Father, we praise You as the God who listens, who inclines Your ear to our prayers and knows our hearts completely. We exalt You for modeling perfect understanding and patience with Your creation.
We confess our quickness to speak and slowness to listen, often forming responses before truly hearing others’ hearts. Forgive us for allowing anger to prevent understanding and judgment to block compassion.
As James wisely counsels, we ask that You would help us become swift to hear and slow to speak. Grant our nation the gift of listening hearts, especially across our deepest divisions. Help us seek first to understand, then to be understood.
We yield our tongues and tempers to Your control, trusting that Your Spirit can transform our heated debates into thoughtful dialogues. Guide us in creating spaces for genuine understanding to grow.
Amen.
