Day 3
Scripture: Isaiah 10:1-2 (ESV)
“Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers of oppression, who turn aside the needy from justice and rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!”
Today’s Prayer:
Holy and Righteous God, we exalt You as the perfect Judge of all creation, the One whose justice rolls down like waters and whose righteousness is like an ever-flowing stream. We praise You for Your perfect law that protects the vulnerable and upholds what is right.
We humbly confess the times we have remained silent in the face of injustice, when we should have spoken up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Forgive us for sometimes valuing convenience over righteousness in our civic duties.
As Isaiah boldly proclaimed, You have special concern for justice and care deeply about how laws affect the vulnerable. We ask that You would guide our legislators to craft laws that protect the weak and uphold justice for all. Grant them wisdom to see beyond party lines to the real human impact of their decisions, and courage to stand for what is right even when it is difficult.
We yield to Your perfect justice, Lord. Even as we pray for righteous legislation, we trust that Your justice will ultimately prevail. Guide our nation’s laws to reflect Your heart for justice and Your love for all people.
Amen.
