Today’s Prayer

God of mercy and protection, we come before You today with urgent hearts, lifting up the people of California as devastating wildfires spread across Los Angeles and surrounding areas. You are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Your Word reminds us in Psalm 46:1-3 that even when the earth gives way, You remain our steadfast protector. We hold fast to this promise as we witness the fierce fires threatening homes and communities.

Lord, we lift up the brave firefighters and emergency responders working tirelessly to contain these fires. Grant them wisdom, strength, and protection as they

battle the flames. Guide their efforts and protect them from harm. We pray for favorable weather conditions that would aid in containing and extinguishing these fires.

Comfort those who have been evacuated from their homes, Lord. Provide them safe shelter and surround them with caring communities. For those who have lost homes and possessions, be their source of hope and provision. Unite communities across our nation in prayer and practical support for all affected.

We pray for wisdom for emergency management teams coordinating response efforts. Guide their decisions and strengthen their resolve. Help agencies work together seamlessly for the good of all affected communities.

In Your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.
